Meet the Artist
Piedade (Pi) Jardine is a watercolor artist whose work focuses on painting memories & turning moments into art. Based in Lisbon, Portugal, she live sketches all kinds of events all over the world. From weddings to corporate, from big events to private smaller gatherings. There, in loco, she captures in quick watercolor sketches what is taking place & creates an artistic storyline of unique illustrations that make for an unforgettable souvenir.
Her background is curiosity based: coming from a scientific and technologic high school’ program focused on Math, with Art as an extra curriculum activity, she later enrolled in a Design Bachelor’s at the best design university in Lisbon - IADE-UE.
Pi then persued her master’s degree in Communication Studies, at Catolica University, specializing in Marketing, Communication & Advertising, and defending a thesis on The Role Stakeholder Engagement in Relational Marketing with magna cum laude.
Art, however, was always in the center of her life. Whilst developing her studies, Pi has been sketching & illustrating professionally since 2015. She has created and sold over 500+ artworks to clients all over the globe. She also enrolled & participated in several Visual Arts courses - amongst them, the Society of Fine Arts’ painting program, in Lisbon.
From weddings to corporate events, Pi captures quick watercolor sketches of what's happening and creates an artistic narrative of unique illustrations that make for an unforgettable memory. With a degree in Design and a masters in Communication, she has been painting professionally since 2016 and creating content since 2021, having worked with brands such as Chanel, Longchamp, Prairie, Perfumes&Companhia, Granado, Hendrick's, Mateus Rosé, NIVEA, La Roche-Posay, among other entities such as the Lisbon Museum, the European Union, and the Assembly of the Portuguese Republic.
On her digital platforms, she has over 46,000 followers, with a larger audience on Instagram of 26,700 followers.
Pi now has sketched close to 100 of events, from weddings to corporate - such as for Smart Bridges’ European Private Wealth Forum, in June 2022, & for Chanel in October of the same year.
Besides being an artist, designer & master in Communication Sciences, Pi is also an art educator: sharing her passion for art with 165 young men, aged 6 to 10, at Colégio Planalto (the oldest all-boys private school in Lisbon), where she teaches class weekly, since September 2022.
Most people, when going out, check for their phone, wallet & keys. Pi’s “outing must have checklist” also includes her sketchbook & watercolors. Never without them, her passion is to sketch away daily events, people and visuals. Art, as form of remembering & turning the ordinary into the extraordinary through mindful sketching is her focus as an artist, at the moment. Her sketches enhancing the beauty & meaning of people’s lives, as well as bringing joy and passion, through art, to whoever is looking for it is her life’s purpose.
